Coppins hangs it out at Mettet Superbiker

The 20th edition of the Mettet Superbiker has seen a star studded field line up under blue Belgian skies this weekend. CAS Honda racer, Josh Coppins, traded his normal Bridgestone motocross treads and Alpinestars MX kit for Supermoto slicks and a trick leather suite to battle against his the likes of Chambon, Everts, Smets, Pichon, Demaria, Bartolini, Melotte and Corser.

Coppins suffered a flat tire in his qualification heat and was left to start in 13th spot on the grid for Sunday’s final. The Kiwi made the best of his starts and rocketed to 8th place in both Moto’s.

“I didn’t get much time on the track with my qualifiers so I was quite happy with the way I was riding . The only practice I got in prior to the race was a session on the street and then we packed everything in to go to the race. I had no crashes and had some good battles with the other guys. There was a great turnout of spectators.” explained Coppins.
