Determined to get back into the British championship chase and defend
his 2004 title, Josh Coppins had the perfect result in Culham, at the
fourth round of the British MX championship today. Coppins and his CAS Honda posted the fastest qualifying time by over a second in the morning timed practice. The Kiwi backed up his pole position with two magnificent hole-shots and ran away with both moto wins on a tough but well designed circuit to sweep overall honours. “I couldn’t have asked for a better result” smiled
Coppins “The team and I have been working hard to get back into
the championship and although I am still a way off the points lead our
goal was to win both races and we did just that. It is going to be tough
to reel in Cooper and Noble as they were consistent with their results
today but we are only half way in the series now and anything can still
happen. This is also a great boost for the GP in Namen next week. After
being so close last year, I really want to win there.” Race Results: Race 1 MX1 – race 2 MX1 Brit. Championship standings: 1 Paul Cooper 213
