GP Sun City- Timed practice

Coppins just misses pole.

After leading most of the MX1 timed practice Coppins looked set for pole however Stefan Everts put a last minute effort to relegate “Lizzard” to second. The South African spectators will be eager to see the world’s best riders do battle at the spectacular Sun City circuit.

“ It’s been a pretty good qualifying day. I like the track but I didn’t want to do too many laps because of the sun – it was difficult to see the lines. I had pole with four minutes to go so I didn’t want to force it and take any risks. The bike is working great and I’ll be looking for some good starts tomorrow which should make for a fun race.”
