Captaining Team New Zealand at the annual Oceania Motocross championship
held at Geelong’s Barrabool motocross circuit in Austraila, Josh
Coppins swept all disciplines aboard his factory CRf450 GP machine this
weekend. The world number two qualified some 4 seconds faster than his closest
rivals on Saturday and then went on to show absolute dominance in the
Sunday race program. Unfortunately for New Zealand, Team Australia managed to post higher scores to regain the Oceania Motocross championship trophy with a narrow 16 point win (Australia 327 to New Zealand 309). “It’ always great to race in Australia and the amount of
effort and work that has gone into this event is amazing. The track was
really awesome and can be compared to any top GP circuit. ‘Horse
power Hill’ impressed me the most! I don’t think my factory
bike has ever gone that fast before!” explained Coppins.
